Red Bird Phoenix is an autobiography revealing sexual abuse and family violence that occurred in Madison County, Arkansas. I knew Hell existed. I was six years old and felt the touch of the fire and flames caused by the sexual abuse of my mother and others. This is my childhood story of deprivation, abuse, and my evolution to freedom. I escaped at 18 and survived against all odds.

I fantasized about escaping, but learned to fly as free as the Red Bird that visited me in my dreams and during the sexual abuse. Fear of Mam and her threats to harm my siblings held me breathless, that fear kept me alive. Mam gave me life, but made that life unbearable.

Being sexually abused conditions children to be fair game for exploitation by predators for their rest of lives.
